Terms of Service

Note: These Terms are a placeholder template and must be reviewed by a lawyer and adapted to the actual circumstances (provider details, pricing, withdrawal notice) before any public or commercial use.

1. Scope

These Terms govern the use of Boat Log, an online service for digitally logging boat trips. The provider is Sven Goik, see Legal Notice.

2. Services and Plans

The service is offered in two tiers:

Free: Free to use, with 1 boat and up to 10 trips total, no PDF export.
Pro: Paid subscription at €3.50 per month or €35.00 per year (incl. statutory VAT), with unlimited boats and trips plus PDF export.

3. Contract Formation and Payment

A Pro subscription contract is formed upon completing checkout via our payment processor, Stripe. Payment is charged in advance for the selected billing period (monthly or yearly) and renews automatically unless canceled before the period ends.

4. Cancellation

The Pro subscription can be canceled at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period, via the subscription management portal (Stripe Customer Portal) in your profile. Amounts already paid for the current period are not refunded pro-rata.

5. Right of Withdrawal for Consumers

Consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal from contract formation. This right expires early if the user has expressly consented to immediate performance and confirmed awareness of the loss of the right of withdrawal upon full performance (template wording — a specific withdrawal notice must be provided separately).

6. Availability and Liability

The provider strives for high service availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted usability. Liability is limited to intent and gross negligence to the extent permitted by law.

7. Privacy

Information on the processing of personal data can be found in the Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to these Terms

The provider reserves the right to amend these Terms with effect for the future. Existing users will be notified of changes in a timely manner.

9. Final Provisions

German law applies. Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
